Dr. Azeez Mohamed Mubarak obtained his BSc (first class) in Chemistry from the University of Ceylon, Colombo (now University of Colombo) in 1975. He won the Commonwealth Scholarship to do his PhD at the University of Cambridge from 1976 to 1980. During his time at the University of Ceylon, he captained the university cricket, soccer, tennis and was a member of the hockey and badminton teams. He also played first-class cricket for the Cambridge University cricket team, and won blues for cricket. After obtaining his PhD, Dr. Mubarak went on to the University of Maryland for postdoctoral research. Prior to joining SLINTEC, Dr. Mubarak was the Director/CEO of Industrial Research Institute (ITI).
