API pilot plant

SLINTEC has built Sri Lanka’s first ultra-modern API pilot plant to assist in the research, design, and development of active/natural pharmaceuticals as part of its synthetic organic program.

Active pharmaceutical ingredients have a wide application in the medical field. SLINTEC has built Sri Lanka’s first ultra-modern API pilot plant to assist in the research, design, and development of active/natural pharmaceuticals as part of its synthetic organic program. The pilot plant helps us produce APIs in kilogram scale for testing, research and commercial purposes. We also have advanced quality control (QC) lab which we use to measure the purity of the synthesized API. The QC lab is equipped with instruments such as HPLC, particle size analyzer, polarimeter, and a refractive index meter.

XPS Instruments

Our new Thermo Scientific XPS system has an ultra-modern surface analysis technique that allows it to provide in-depth results and a variety of measurement methods. It can use large area spectroscopy for maximum chemical detectability and it also provides fast and precise small area analysis. It has fast parallel imaging (XPI) and can produce high-resolution XPS chemical images. The ESCALAB Xi+ has excellent energy resolution and is the perfect tool to identify and quantify different chemical states. Other features that make the XPS instrument stand out are Insulator Analysis, Depth Profiling, Reflection Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy, Ion Scattering Spectroscopy, Auger Electron Spectroscopy, and Ultraviolet Photoelectron Spectroscopy.

Graphene Plant

SLINTEC has built a graphene extraction and research facility called Ceylon Graphene Technologies. Our facility specializes in extracting vein graphite and producing high quality graphene-based technology.

Sri Lanka is one of the few places on earth that has vein graphite, a very pure form of graphite that makes it a desired raw material in many industries. Spinnable Carbon nanotubes

SLINTEC is a leading giant in the nanotechnology research and development sector. Moisture Management Fabrics

Moisture management is rapidly changing the activewear garment industry. Although there has been huge progress in this field, there are major challenges that need to be overcome which limits the broad adaptability of the technology. Rising to this challenge, SLINTEC has developed a patent pending, textile technology based on photoactive materials that significantly improve the moisture evaporation rate compared to the intrinsic material. The intellectual property has already been transferred to a leading textile company in Sri Lanka. Smart textiles and moisture management fabrics are evolving at an incredible rate and SLINTEC hopes to use the latest technology to create fabrics that are truly astounding.

Battery Technology

SLINTEC has a fully functional lab with the required instruments and personnel to conduct and assist in battery technology research. Our instruments are capable of characterizing many battery performance features of battery cells. As a leading expert in the battery technology industry, SLINTEC helps local battery manufacturers improve their battery performance. We also conduct research on energy storage devices, such as supercapacitors. SLINTEC is a leading research body in the synthesis of environmentally benign and biocompatible nanoparticles that can be released in a programmed manner for use as a nanofertilizer.

Nanotechnology has brought about evolution to the way we live. While there has been substantial research done on the application of nanotechnology in drug delivery, there has been limited research on how nanotechnology can be used to deliver essential nutrients to plants. SLINTEC is a leading research body in this respect. We focus our work on the synthesis of environmentally benign and biocompatible nanoparticles that can be released in a programmed manner for use as a nanofertilizer, transporting urea molecules which is an excellent source of nitrogen. By using nanoparticles we are able to control the amount of urea that is released, thereby greatly reducing the possibility of excess urea polluting soil and nearby water sources.
