SLINTEC develops an Advance Gold Therapy technology for British Cosmetic’s flagship product range

The Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) signed a research commercialisation agreement with British Cosmetics Ltd. on 11 June to launch a new product range, after successful completion of research focusing on the development of novel facial care products.

British Cosmetics is one of Sri Lanka’s leading skin and beauty care distributors and manufacturers and has been a household name since its inception 16 years ago. The company is a distributor of top international brands and signature products, and is also expanding its local manufacturing capability with a view to creating an export brand.

British Cosmetics engaged with SLINTEC on 21 November 2016 to carry out this research in order to develop a product range with scientifically proven benefits. Lead scientists of the project, Prof. K. M. Nalin de Silva and Dr. Lahiru Wijenayaka, revealed that this work enables British Cosmetics to gain a competitive edge through technological advancement and capture untapped markets, both locally and internationally.

British cosmetics has launched a range of Prevense Skincare products which has been formulated with Ceylon Green Tea, Essential Botanical Extracts along with the SLINTEC’s Advance Gold Technology. These products were formulated in order to fight daily skin care problems. These products can remove pigmentation and dark spots. Products formulated in this manner can fight against free radicals resulting in the removal of wrinkles and dry skin.
